Delaney Frey of the Regina Rebels is January’s First Star. The 16 year old forward from Weyburn proved her worth to the Rebels and gave notice to the league after recording 15 points including 9 goals and 6 assists in January. Frey currently sits third in league scoring with 38 points trailing only Chelsea Perepeluk and Emma Waldenberger, her teammates on the Rebels.
Delaney Frey has developed into a strong 2-way forward in the SFMAAAHL. Her ability to hang on to the puck and win battles has brought positive team and personal results for Frey. Frey plays key minutes on the Rebels top line and is asked by the Rebels coaching staff to play a key role in all situations. Delaney is enjoying her most successful offensive season having surpassed her combined career totals in the first 24 games of 2013-14.
